Ethics:
In a modern society there are definite standards and rules that we have to ad hire to. Without these standards and rules no society can function properly. Standards and norms are learned and formed in the pre-school years and can be made your own, and every individual decides what standards and rules to live by consciously. These standards and rules is the basis of the way you live your life, what decision you make and what you decide is important to accomplish on the way through life. Ethics is what we call all this standards and norms and the way you conduct your personal and business life.
In this article there are clearly two different sets of ethics at play. At the one side we have Dawie Groenewald that buys and hunt and sells Rhino’s and other scare animals, despite facing charges in connection with these illegal activities. He says he loves Rhinos, but can just as easily kill them and sell their horns for thousands of rands and all this is not a problem for him. The rhino is just a commodity that he uses to enrich himself, like when you buy and sells livestock to make a living. Dawie wants money, he thinks only of himself and how he can make more money and by slaughtering wild animals he can reach his goal. He can life with these standards and rules and ethical all this is not a problem for him.
At the other hand we have wildlife activists, for whom the wild animals is scared and should be scared for and looked after and be preserved, and for them it is “brutal slaughter” to kill these “ iconic animals”. The killing of these animals undermines do not think of themselves but for them the wild animals is a big concern. And because the animals can’t fend for themselves they fight for the rights of the wild animals. It is not about money but about the life and future of all the unique animals.
But at the end it is the rules and laws of the country that should be abide to, because no society can function without laws to keep order. So at the end your own ethics should be basic the same to fit into society.
