Identify your beacons.
You will need a GPS because it is very accurate and a map to identify where it is. Set out the beacons then use a map and a GPS. Then mark the things on the map with the GPS coordinates.

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2
The area is physically cleared or debushed in preparation for fencing.

When you physically clear remember some things:
Remember fire breaks must be 7 m long.
Also a fence go straight, and if a tree or kopie is in the way go walk to the neighbors and decide witch on you will have in your farm and witch on on his farm, if there is only one e.g. kopie then go over the kopie to divide it between you and the neighbor. Fence checking.

If there is buches next to fence, cut off.
More physical and chemical than biolocical.

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3
The area is levelled to facilitate the erection of a fence.

Level next to the fence so that you and other people can walkor ride there. The soil must be leveled. There must be fence patrol.  Put fence line without interruptions.

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4
An outline is given of the prescribed specifications to be adhered to when preparing an area for fencing.

Specifications need to fall within ecological management plan.

  • Next to fence 1 m of clearness road
  • The patrol road don't have to be straight
  • Fire break - Inside of fire break
  • Selective thinning - Guest experience much higher to see animals

Clearing - Method selection:

Monitor the fence for effectiveness.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1
Regular patrols are conducted for the purpose of gathering information on the following aspects, the locations, the number of incidents and the particular species that are involved in fence breaching.

When you do patrol:
3 Ways: 1) Walk ; 2) Ride ; 3) Fly

Check for:
Bent ; Broken strains; Rust; Animal or human - tracks; hairs.; Damage
